Games are still eating most of my life :) I think I've played Quake4 for at least an hour every day for the last 3 or 4 weeks, and yesterday evening was no exception. I still pretty much always come last or nearly last, but it's fun, so it doesn't matter :)

So yesterday I burnt 20 & some change CDs, wrote a report on Adventure 3 and posted it (and had nice things said about it, too, that's rather nice). Tuesday night we went up to Norwich for a concert with Ed - Jenniferever were supposed to be playing in The Ferryboat (a pub somewhere nearish the station). Managed to get caught up on chores after a day off, which is good. And still had time to play with my watercolours a bit :) Though I completely failed to pull off the effect I was aiming for, and it didn't end up looking particularly good. Friday was mostly a Civ day - I started a game at lunchtime and eventually won it that evening :) Just a time victory, which I'm a little disappointed with as I was 5% of land area away from winning that way ... if I'd either captured Thebes or got a Great Artist to push out the borders of Memphis before the time ran out I'd've got it, I think. Finally got through to the boiler people - they can't come out till the 18th, and she really didn't want to make me any appointment at all (I think it's one chap and he's awfully busy). Civ4 arrived yesterday not long after I posted my entry, but I was a good person and did all the housework before I installed it. And then promptly played it all afternoon and most of the early evening (when I wasn't cooking, anyway). J got an email saying Civ4 has shipped so that prompted me to fit my shiny new DVD drive, and to boot into windows and do the windows update dance. 14 critical updates, I guess I'd not done anything much in windows recently ;) Game likely won't arrive till next week though - Play take 3-5 days for shipping normally. My skin is trying to tell me I'm not drinking enough water - eczema is partly a hydration issue. This is odd, because for the first time in years I can drink water whenever I want, rather than waiting for a break. I guess because I can I'm not bothering to drink as much at any one time.
